Frequently asked questions
What do I need to fit a bar end mirror?
A handlebar with open tube ends: the mirror is secured by an expander that tightens inside the tube. If there are weights or fixed caps at the ends, they must be removed to free the tube.
Which handlebar inner diameter is required?
Measure the inner diameter of the tube: FAR expander kits cover 13 to 18 mm (G18BB930) and 18 to 28 mm (G18BB927). The sizes accepted by each model are stated on its product page.
The expander won’t fit my handlebar: what do I do?
Some bar end mirrors come with two expanders, one inside the other, already fitted on the mirror. If the expander is too big for your handlebar, pull off the first, larger one and keep the second, smaller one: it fits a narrower tube. If even the small one won’t go in, write to our assistant. If it still isn’t solved, as a last resort message us on WhatsApp.
Are bar end mirrors road-legal?
Some are and some are not: each product page states whether the product is ECE homologated. Non-homologated models are intended for track or display. What the law says and how to recognise the approval mark: guide to road-legal mirrors.
Are they sold singly or in pairs?
Many models are sold individually and the title states the side: SX, DX or SX/DX when the same mirror fits both. The product page always makes this clear.
